Attendance Policy:
At Princeton Institute, we believe that regular attendance is essential for academic success and personal growth. We expect all students to attend school regularly, arrive on time for classes, and participate fully in all scheduled activities.
- Attendance Requirements: Students are expected to attend all classes, unless there is a valid reason for absence. Excused absences include illness, bereavement, religious observance, and family emergency. If a student needs to miss class for any reason, they must inform the school office and their teacher in advance, providing a written explanation from a parent or guardian.
- Tardiness: Students who arrive late for classes will be marked as tardy. If a student is tardy, they must report to the school office to obtain a late slip before proceeding to their class. Chronic tardiness may result in disciplinary action.
- Make-up Work: Students who are absent from school for any reason are responsible for making up any missed work. Teachers will provide students with the necessary assignments, and it is the student’s responsibility to complete the work and submit it in a timely manner. If a student needs additional support, they can schedule a meeting with their teacher or the school counselor.
- Truancy: Truancy, defined as an unexcused absence from school, is a serious offense. If a student is absent without a valid reason, the school will notify their parents or guardians and take appropriate disciplinary action. Chronic truancy may result in suspension or expulsion.
- School Withdrawal: If a student needs to withdraw from school for any reason, they must inform the school office in writing and obtain a withdrawal form. The student’s parent or guardian must sign the form, and it must be submitted to the school office at least two weeks before the student’s last day of attendance.
By implementing this attendance policy, we aim to promote regular attendance, accountability, and responsibility among our students. We believe that this policy will help create a positive learning environment and prepare our students for academic success and personal growth.
